Meet Mandy Losito, Owner of Mosaic Roots Counseling
My approachable and warm demeanor allows me to establish rapport quickly with new clients. I believe the relationship between counselor and client is the most important part of the therapeutic process.
During my free time, I enjoy traveling, being outside- hiking or poolside, finding new restaurants and live music spots with my partner, and spending time with my friends and family. I also love playing video games and watching reality TV. Meet Gravy! He likes to make himself known in virtual sessions.
Mandy’s Background
According to trauma and addictions specialist Dr. Gabor Maté, our two main needs for survival as humans are our attachment to others and our authenticity to ourselves. From a young age, I formed painful narratives like, “You’re too much” and “You’re a bad person.” To protect my connections with others, I developed a people-pleasing part that worked hard to keep me attached, even if it meant losing pieces of myself.
As I grew older, I began to feel disconnected from who I truly was. I didn’t understand why I felt anxious, unhappy, or unsettled in my own skin. Through my own therapy, I learned to listen to my emotions instead of pushing them aside, and slowly began to find balance between staying true to myself and nurturing my relationships.
That experience changed everything for me. I know firsthand how life-giving it is to feel seen, accepted, and supported while doing the hard work of healing. That’s why I became a therapist—to help others untangle the stories that hold them back, reconnect with their authentic selves, and build relationships that feel safe, honest, and alive.

Why “Mosaic Roots” Counseling?
The name Mosaic Roots Counseling comes from the belief that every part of us has value, even the pieces we’ve tried to hide, ignore, or push away. Much like a mosaic, our lives are made up of many different fragments: our history, our struggles, our strengths, and the stories we carry. Each piece has its own color, shape, and texture, and together they create something uniquely beautiful.
The “roots” speak to where we come from: our family systems, our culture, our earliest experiences, and the parts of ourselves that were formed to help us survive. In Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, we honor these parts, understanding that they each have a role in our growth. When we tend to our roots with care and curiosity, we create the stability and nourishment needed for new branches to grow.
Mosaic Roots Counseling is about helping you embrace all the pieces of your story, reconnect with your authentic self, and grow into the fullest expression of who you are- rooted, whole, and thriving.
